Choose Well : Live Well

» Tobacco Cessation

As part of our Tobacco Cessation program, you’ll be assigned a personal Health Coach at no cost to you. Your coach will use the QuitSmart® process to support you every step of the way. You’ll also have access to online tools to track tobacco usage, identify triggers for smoking/dipping and find tobacco cessation resources that can help you learn how to manage tobacco cravings.

Besides getting help to quit, there are other advantages to participating in this program. You will be eligible for the non-tobacco user’s credit on your medical plan premiums for the following plan year.

Under the Healthy Options medical plan, FDA-approved brand name, generic and over-the-counter tobacco cessation products that your doctor prescribes are covered at 100 percent, according to Affordable Care Act guidelines and plan rules.

If you certify during Annual Enrollment each year that you have not used tobacco in any form (including electronic cigarettes) during the past six months, you are eligible to save $100 per month on your medical premiums for the following plan year – a savings of $1,200! If your covered spouse or domestic partner is a non-tobacco user, he or she can benefit from the same savings.

If you still use tobacco but are ready to make a lifestyle choice that can improve your health and the health of your family, you can enroll in a certified tobacco cessation program and still be eligible for the Non-Tobacco User Credit.
